Laufey is getting ready to release a brand-new single this month, entitled “Tough Luck.” The Icelandic jazz-pop singer-songwriter announced the news on May 8, 2025, revealing that it is set to be released on May 15, 2025 (Thursday). Prior to this, she had performed the track live before, with its lyrics exploring the point-of-view of someone breaking off a toxic relationship.
“Tough Luck” serves as Laufey’s second release of the year, following “Silver Lining,” which came out on April 3, 2025. Both notably follow her live album A Night At The Symphony: Live at the Hollywood Bowl, as well as her Christmas EP A Very Laufey Holiday, released in December and November 2024 respectively.
In other news, Laufey was in the Philippines on two separate occasions last year, performing three sold-out concerts in total. The first of these were the two shows she did with the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra last May 28-29, 2024 at the PICC Plenary Hall in Pasay City. Following this, she returned to hold her first-ever arena show in her career by performing at the SM Mall of Asia Arena last September 2, 2024.
