KAIA are gearing up for a comeback next month.

On August 18, the P-pop quintet posted an audio snippet of an unreleased upbeat track with the lyrics “Walang biro, walang biruan (No joke, not joking around),” hinting at an upcoming release scheduled for this coming September 13. Watch this space for updates.

‘Yung fans talaga namin‘yung ZAIA — gusto talaga nilang magkaroon kami ng bubblegum pop na concept and ito na ‘yun! (Our fans — the ZAIA — really want us to have a bubblegum pop concept and this is finally it!),” shares KAIA’s leader Angela in an exclusive statement to Billboard Philippines, describing the track to be a “feel-good” love song and a sort of sibling to their heartfelt ballad “Dalawa.”

Hinting at a surprise, Angela also shares that there will be a member of the group who will be singing that fans would not expect to have singing parts, stating how proud she is of this member and how beautiful their tone is in the forthcoming single. Meanwhile, she also shared a few details from their time bringing the single to life, noting how their producer encouraged them to do adlibs that eventually made the final cut and how they wrote the lyrics to the song in under an hour.

Lastly, she also reveals that the track has been recorded and ready to go for a while now, expressing the group’s excitement for its release. “Lahat ng andito [sa song na ‘to], compilation siya ng creative ideas namin. We’re very excited kasi new concept and maganda ‘yung choreography nito! Marami silang aabangan! (Everything in this song, it’s a compilation of our creative ideas. We’re very excited because it’s a new concept and the choreography is nice! There’s a lot to look forward to!)”

This brand new track follows the girl group’s “YOU DID IT,” released to much anticipation last April 12 as it was their first comeback with an all-new single in over a year since the release of “5678” in March 2023. “YOU DID IT” and its accompanying music video were first announced by KAIA during their 2nd anniversary fan concert KAIAVERSITY last April 6.
