The long wait is finally over as P-pop group KAIA are back with a new single entitled “YOU DID IT”.

On April 12, KAIA released their highly anticipated comeback track which follows “5678”, released last March 2023. The new song, whose lyrics seem to confront and call out critics of the group, sees the 5-piece lean into a much darker mesmerizing pop sound compared to their previous releases.

KAIA first officially started teasing the new track on their social media last April 8, the date of their second anniversary. This was followed by the official title reveal and release time on April 9, a 15-second audio snippet of the song on April 10, and the official lyric reveal and line distribution on April 11.

After “5678” but before “YOU DID IT” was released, the group also issued two remixes of their 2022 hit ballad “Dalawa” in 2023. This includes an upbeat, dance pop version entitled “Dalawa (REMIIX)” as well as a version which features rapper Jr Crown.

KAIA first announced the release of their new single during their recently concluded 2nd anniversary fan concert KAIAVERSITY at the Music Museum in San Juan City last April 6. Prior to this, they first teased the song through a surprise performance during their sold-out, first solo concert last December 2023 at the Teatrino Promenade in San Juan City. “Pinaghirapan po namin ito [We worked hard on this]. It means everything to us,” remarked KAIA’s leader Angela on-stage regarding the new track during the aforementioned fan concert.
