Following her sold-out, first-ever solo concert at the New Frontier Theater last weekend, folk pop singer-songwriter Janine is gearing up to release her latest single, entitled “Mapalad.” Initially performed as an unreleased song during the concert, the track will capture themes of love in both its fleeting and long-lasting natures. The release date and further details have yet to be announced – watch this space for updates.

This marks Janine’s second major musical drop of the year, following the release of her May single “Pikit Mata.” In her release of the single, the soulful singer-songwriter also debuted a special music video featuring Ang Mutya Ng Section E star Rabin Angeles, which follows the pair in a summer whirlwind romance.

As it currently stands, on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100, Janine retains the No. 12 position for “Tingin,” her collaborative piece with Cup of Joe (dated September 6, 2025). Dominating the chart for 62 weeks and counting, the track previously peaked at the No. 6 spot of the Hot 100.

As aforementioned, this quickly follows the ‘Janine Live at the New Frontier Theater’ concert held last September 6. In a review written by Billboard Philippines, it was noted that, “Between songs, Janine spoke with a mix of tearful candor and quiet gratitude, sharing fragments of the journey that brought her here — the long nights of bar gigs, the doubts that made her question if she’d even be able to pull of a solo show, and the unexpected turns that led her to where she is now.”
