HEY JUNE! are taking fans along for a ride with the upcoming release of their sophomore album, to be released on September 28, 2026.
The pop rock trio announced their second album in a post, featuring the LRT-2 along with the album title “Realidad” written in the style of the transit line’s signs. They followed this up with other teasers such as a reel showcasing the group entering the train and a photo of the members inside the vehicle.
With this all-too-familiar sight for Manila commuters, the band uses the transit line as a metaphor for life, which, like the train, is constantly in motion with its twists and turns. Focusing on this, HEY JUNE! seek to emphasize how life is rarely about the destination and more about the journey.
Formed in 2021, HEY JUNE! are currently composed of Jim Mase (vocals and guitar), Coey Ballesteros (bass), and Aci Fodra (drums). They released their debut single “Panahon” in 2022. However, it was their 2023 single “LASIK” that garnered mainstream success, with the track debuting at No. 39 on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 and No. 20 on the Top Philippine Songs. To date, it remains the group’s most popular hit, amassing over 42 million streams.
Thematically, the group’s upcoming project falls in line with their signature subject matter. Not shying away from hard-hitting emotional topics, their most recent single “It’s Not the Same as It Used to Be,” released on August 17, 2026, is a sentimental track exploring change and losing what “used to be.”
Before that, HEY JUNE! released the more rock-infused single “Kung May Problema Ka” on June 1, 2026. Alongside its heavy but uplifting guitar riffs, vocalist Mase sings about self-doubt and the motivation to become more courageous.
