FELIP is back.
SB19’s Ken — performing under his mononym FELIP — announced that he will be releasing a new single titled “Fake Faces” this April 5 (Friday) at midnight. In the announcement for the post, he shared a snippet of what the track and accompanying music video sounds and looks like. FELIP is seen in what appears to be a quarry site as he sings the song. “Fake Faces” seems to be a departure from the hip-hop sound that he debuted with in his EP, COMPLEX. The new song will be released at midnight while the music video will premiere at 8PM on the same day.
“Fake Faces” follows a string of collaborations with Davao-based rap quintet, PLAYERTWO. On January 19, they premiered “FLYYY” while on February 2, they released “Pagdali” (translated from Bisaya as ‘hurry up). Both acts are native Bisaya speakers.
Last year, FELIP dropped his debut album, COMPLEX which featured tracks like “STRAYDOGS”, “ROCKSTA”, and “CRIMINAL” – the lattermost of which was featured on Billboard Philippines’ Top 25 songs of 2023 year-end list. He later performed the track on an episode of Billboard Philippines Studios, alongside his cover of Never The Strangers’ “Moving Closer,” and “DRINKSMOKE.”
In other news, he and the other members of SB19 will be holding a finale concert for their PAGTATAG! World Tour, which is slated to happen on May 18 and 19 at the Araneta Coliseum.
