Dia Maté and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid have teamed up to pay a timely homage to the elderly queer community with her latest single titled “Ina,” an ode to love, legacy, and inclusivity. Last May 2, the pop singer-songwriter released this pride anthem along with an accompanying lyric music video.

In an official press release, the reigning Reina Hispanoamericana 2025 shared her experience working with the legend, Regine Velasquez: “It is such an honor to collaborate with an OPM legend. Having Ate Reg’s lyrics and vocals on the track makes the song even more meaningful and impactful. I’m really grateful she was game to hop on the track.”

The song itself was written in dedication of the Golden Gays, a nonprofit organization that provides support and care facilities for LGBTQ+ elders aged sixty and above. Through this new single, Maté hopes to amplify these individuals’ voices and bridge their stories to a wider audience. To further this advocacy, The Golden Gays will be featured in the music video of “Ina” and a supplemental documentary.

The artist further elaborated on her advocacy behind the song, “Aside from The Golden Gays, I also dedicate this song to my family members, friends, mentors, and mamas within the community. I have so much love and respect for all of them. They have stood by my side and guided me every step of the way in life, in my music career, and in my pageant journey. This song is also for them.”

This follows Dia Maté’s first single drop of the year, “Ikaw Ang Pinili Ko,” which was premiered last January 7.
