Cup Of Joe have finally released the music video for their hit track “Multo.” It notably stars Miles Ocampo and Elijah Canlas who portray a former couple navigating the haunting memories of a love now lost. The duo’s involvement in the music video was revealed by the band last March 3, 2025 (Monday).
Cup of Joe first teased the music video’s release last February 26 (Wednesday) through a post on their social media with the caption, “Sa huling araw ng Pebrero, tanawin ang kwento ng isang pagmamahal na pilit nating ibinabaon (On the last day of February, look back on the story of love that we’ve ourselves to bury).”
Following this, on February 27 (Thursday), the “Tingin” hitmakers officially confirmed the music video’s release by announcing that they are set to hold a music video launch on March 6, 2025 (Thursday) at the Viva Cafe in Quezon City. The show sold out in less than an hour. In addition, it also served as a special get-together between Cup of Joe and their fans, the Joewahs.
“Multo” was released by the Baguio alternative pop band as the first single from their debut album Silakbo last September 14, 2024. With the themes of Silakbo exploring the five stages of grief, “Multo” is the first track of the album in the depression stage, serving as the full-length record’s seventh track overall.
In a track-by-track guide of the album from the band, the haunting and emotional synth-driven track was revealed to have been written by co-lead vocalist Rapha Ridao and his older brother in the middle of the pandemic. This was when they “went through a self-reflective stage after they both experienced losing someone important to them.” The song tackles the idea of “continuing through life while being constantly haunted by the memory of lost love, where one learns to sit with their grief and confront the pain.”
In other news, Cup Of Joe recently wrapped their second solo concert earlier this month, performing two sold-out dates at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. In Billboard Philippines’ review of the concert, we described it as “a testament to Cup of Joe’s ongoing legacy and growing influence on the Philippine sonic landscape,” with both shows serving as “a full-circle moment for the band as they reach heights they’d been working towards — a reward for their labor and contributions to the country’s music scene.”
