Cup of Joe have finally released their debut album.

On January 17, 2025, the Baguio-hailing alternative pop band came out with their first ever studio album Silakbo. Translated to “an outburst of emotions,” the album’s ten distinct but equally emotional tracks explore the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. The album was preceded by the single “Multo,” released last September 14, 2024.

“Silakbo is a narrative of our pain and healing. In creating it, we aimed to be as honest and direct as possible,” stated the quintet in a post ahead of the album’s release. “It’s us finally bringing unspoken emotions and experiences to light.”

In other news, Cup of Joe are set to hold their second major concert — also titled ‘Silakbo’ — at the Smart Araneta Coliseum this February 8 and 9, 2025 (Saturday and Sunday). Both dates are completely sold out. Following this, they will embark on a three-part concert tour in support of the album, with dates in Baguio, Davao, and Cebu, in March.

Cup of Joe are the cover stars of Billboard Philippines‘ December 2024 issue, where they look back on their origins in (and rise from) Baguio, discuss their career milestones since then, talk about the creation of Silakbo, and more. Get your copies now available via SariSari Shopping.
