Coldplay gave their Filipino fans a little surprise.
The British pop band are back in the Philippines as part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour. Today (January 19), at Day 1 of their two show run at Bulacan’s Philippine Arena, Coldplay performed a special rendition of the viral hit “Raining In Manila” alongside Lola Amour. The performance serves as a parting gift before the band closed out their sold out show.
After their encore, Coldplay’s Chris Martin took to the piano to perform the first verse of the track in Tagalog, before calling Lola Amour to join him on stage.
“Raining In Manila” comes as Lola Amour’s most successful track yet, taking the country by storm. The track, which talks about the bittersweet feelings of friends moving abroad, ranked at No. 2 on Spotify’s global chart.
As another surprise, Coldplay also revealed that they are currently working on a new album and even asked the crowd to sing the lines: “Love who you love, love for your love” for the upcoming record. It would serve as the band’s 10th studio album, following their critically acclaimed Music of the Spheres.
Coldplay will be performing their second show at the Philippine Arena tomorrow (January 20) before heading to do six-show run in Singapore.
