Pinoy emo giants Chicosci and Typecast are set to headline SM Fanverse’s Emo Fest Fan Gathering this February 11 at the Skydome in SM North EDSA.

The two bands will be fronted by new-gen emo artists Cloie Lorezca, Rosima PH, Aios!, Mayumi, Dear Juliet, and Jirah Anne Barres. Pre-registration for the event will happen via the SM Malls Online app. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.

Last year, Chicosci released their self-titled album on streaming platforms. They celebrated the release with a gig held at the Shutterspace Studios in Katipunan, Quezon City. They are known for their tracks “Chicosci Vampire Club,” “Raspberry: Girl,” “Paris,” and “Diamond Shotgun (Lock and Load).”

In a Facebook post announcing the gig, the band wrote, “There are a bunch of things we are celebrating! Today we just got back from the US embassy and our visas have been approved! Kita kita tayo sa America City mga kabayan. (See you at America City, countrymen.) We wanted to throw a party before flying out, so come on down and send us off! We are also celebrating the digital release of our self-titled album, so we decided to play the whole damn thing live. If you stick around, we’ll play more tunes and mega-hits. Album goes live on streaming services on Oct 18.”

In an interview with Billboard Philippines, Typecast frontman Steve Badiola looked back on their 24 year long career. He also shared that the band is now in the process of recording new tracks. “[It] took us a bit longer than anticipated, but it’s coming real soon…Up until now, we’re still learning. You just gotta put yourself out there [and] focus on improving your craft. If you get noticed, just repeat and keep on keeping on.”
