The drought of new solo music from Bruno Mars is almost over. The “APT.” hitmaker has announced that his fourth studio album is complete.
The Filipino-American singer made a simple, straightforward announcement on X: “My album is done.” The currently unnamed project comes more than ten years after his Grammy-winning album 24K Magic, released in 2016, which featured hits like the opening track, “That’s What I Like,” “Versace on the Floor,” and “Finesse.”
In 2021, Mars released An Evening with Silk Sonic, his debut album as part of the musical superduo Silk Sonic with fellow singer-rapper Anderson .Paak. Although he hasn’t released a new solo album in recent years, Mars has remained a constant presence on the charts.
In 2024, Bruno Mars collaborated with Lady Gaga on the duet “Die With A Smile.” The song made a splash in the charts globally, including topping the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 at No. 1 in September 2024. It was also featured on Billboard Philippines‘ 50 Best Songs of 2024 list that same year.
The momentum didn’t stop there as later that same year, Mars scored another hit. This time, he collaborated with ROSÉ of BLACKPINK on the chart-topping track “APT.” The song made an unprecedented debut on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100, immediately claiming the No. 1 spot — the first time a track has debuted at the coveted spot since the chart’s inception in July 2024.
Although Mars has confirmed that the new album is finished, details like the track list and cover art have not yet been officially revealed. Rumors and unverified reports are circulating that his new era might kick off this Friday, January 9, with the release of a new single, but this has not been officially confirmed by his team.
