Bring Me The Horizon just covered an Oasis classic.

On January 29, 2025 (Wednesday), British experimental rock/metal band Bring Me The Horizon surprised their followers by announcing the release of their very own rendition of the Oasis hit “Wonderwall.” Recorded for Spotify Singles, it notably sees the popular laidback track from Oasis revamped with Bring Me The Horizon’s signature melodic yet heavy-hitting instrumentals, complete with growled vocals, fast-paced drums, and heavy guitar work.

Launched in 2016, Spotify Singles is a program created by streaming plaform Spotify as a way to “provide artists with the opportunity to re-record one of their existing songs in a fresh new way, as well as cover a song of their choice by one of their own musical heroes.” Other notable artists that have been a part of the program include Sabrina Carpenter, Clairo, ENHYPEN, Mitski, Niall Horan, STAYC, Laufey, and more.

For Bring Me The Horizon, alongside the cover of “Wonderwall,” they also released a so-called “EarthcOre” remix of “YOUtopia” — the second track from their seventh studio album POST HUMAN: NeX GEn, released last May 24, 2024. The album was chosen by Billboard Philippines as part of our ’50 Best Albums And EPs Of 2024′ list, wherein we described it as the band “at their most experimental, unhinged, and irreverent yet, showcasing their diverse metal roots alongside playful hints of hyperpop, pop-punk, electronica, and more.”

Oasis’ “Wonderwall” served as the fourth single from the iconic British rock band’s critically acclaimed sophomore album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, which was released back in October 1995. Last August 2024, Oasis announced their long-awaited reunion, 15 years after their sudden breakup back in 2009.

In other news, Bring Me The Horizon were recently nominated for Group Of The Year for the 2025 BRIT Awards, going up against Coldplay, The Cure, Ezra Collective, and The Last Dinner Party. The awards ceremony is set to happen this March 1, 2025 at O2 Arena in London, England.
