Fifteen years after their tumultuous split, Britpop legends Oasis are finally gearing up for a reunion that fans have long been dreaming of.

The Gallagher brothers, lead singer Liam and guitarist/songwriter Noel, have finally confirmed the rampant speculation brought about by a series of cryptic social media posts –– now officially announcing that the group is reuniting for a live tour across the United Kingdom, Scotland, and Ireland. Both brothers posted a brand new photo together on their Instagram accounts, with the caption stating; The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

Aptly titled Oasis Live ’25, the tour is set to commence next July 4, 2025, in the Cardiff Principality Stadium in Wales and will go on until August 17, 2025 at the Dublin Croke Park until August 17, 2025. Tickets are scheduled to be made for sale at 9 AM (BST) this upcoming Saturday (August 31, 2024) via TicketMaster and Gigs and Tours’ official website, depending on your region. Check out the full list of shows announced so far below:

  • Cardiff Principality Stadium – 4th / 5th July
  • Manchester Heaton Park – 11th / 12th / 19th / 20th July

  • Edinburgh Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium – 8th / 9th August

The buzz began when a short clip, styled in the band’s iconic font, appeared on the brothers’ social media accounts, as well as the official Oasis page. The video simply displayed the date “27.08.24,” which flickered to reveal the time “8 a.m” (3 p.m Philippine Time). Fans of the group were quick to connect the dots –– hoping this could mean the return of one of Manchester’s most celebrated bands.

Oasis, formed in 1991 and skyrocketed to fame with timeless anthems like “Wonderwall,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” and “Stop Crying Your Heart Out.” However, the band infamously disbanded in 2009 after a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, leading to years of estrangement between the Gallagher brothers. Despite this, both Liam and Noel have enjoyed successful solo careers, with Noel leading Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

In the lead-up to this possible reunion, reports have emerged suggesting that the band might perform a series of shows next year, including potential gigs at London’s Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s Heaton Park. A recent Sunday Times article even hinted that Wembley could be booked for 10 dates — an unprecedented run that would break Taylor Swift’s eight-night record set earlier this year. There’s also speculation that Oasis could headline Glastonbury, one of the most coveted slots in the festival world.

Liam Gallagher has also been stirring the pot further, taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) to engage with fans about the reunion rumors. “I never did like that word FORMER,” he posted, alongside sharing news articles about the potential comeback. During his headline set at Reading Festival on Sunday, Liam dedicated the Oasis track “Half The World Away” to Noel, sparking more excitement. The same teaser clip showing Tuesday’s date also appeared on the stage’s main screens, leaving fans in attendance in a frenzy.
