Filipino comedy film Becky and Badette has just earned another award for its hit original song, titled “Finggah Lickin“, at this year’s Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (FAMA) Awards.
Following its win for Best Original Song at the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival in December, the Pokwang and Eugene Domingo performed-track was released to official streaming and digital services earlier this April alongside the rest of the film’s original songs in its soundtrack. Also included were Domingo’s solo track “Bigla-Bigla“, and “Babawi Kami” which feature the dynamic duo together with Filipino singer & actress Agot Isidro.
Aside from “Fingah Lickin”‘s win at the FAMA Awards, other recognitions from the prestigious awards body that intersect with the local music industry include nods for Teresa Barrozo’s compositions to Iti Mapukpakaw (also known as The Missing) for Best Original Score, and to the Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes-led tearjerker Rewind for Best Sound.
Other awardees at this year’s FAMA Ceremony include a win for Mallari (Best Picture), Piolo Pascual and Alfred Vargas (Best Actor for Mallari and Pieta), Kathryn Bernardo (Best Actress for A Very Good Girl), Louie Ignacio (Best Director for Mascot), LA Santos (Best Supporting Actor for In His Mother’s Eyes) and Gloria Diaz (Best Supporting Actress for Mallari).
Becky and Badette was just released on Netflix last April 4, and immediately climbed up the platform’s list of Top Streamed Movies within the time of it’s release. In addition to that, the film’s soundtrack –– particularly “Fingah Lickin'” –– has accumulated close twenty-thousand streams and counting.
