Filipina indie rock sensation Beabadoobee is set to collaborate with renowned producer Jack Antonoff for a reimagined rendition of “It’s Only A Paper Moon”, which was made popular by Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald‘s covers during the last years of World War II.
The track will be part of the soundtrack to the upcoming Apple TV series ‘The New Look’, with the compilation album entirely produced by the Bleachers frontman. Antonoff, who has won numerous Grammy Awards for his production for Taylor Swift, St. Vincent, and Fun, has stated that the soundtrack would mark the first release under his label Shadow of the City, released via Dirty Hit.
Aside from Beabadoobee, the other artists who will be part of the upcoming record include Lana Del Rey, The 1975, Florence + The Machine, Bleachers, Perfume Genius, Nick Cave, Sam Dew, Joy Oladokun, and Bartees Strange. Though the album is scheduled for release on April 3, 2024, Antonoff teased the release of the album’s first track (which is still unknown) on January 31, 2024 (Wednesday).
Just last 2023, Beabadoobee released her viral hit song “Glue Song” on Valentine’s Day, along with a duet version of the track featuring indie-pop sensation Clairo in April. Modern jazz sensation Laufey also collaborated with Beabadoobee for their bebop-inspired duet “A Night To Remember“, which was released last October.
