Madelle Paltu-ob is a woman of many talents: a long-time dancer, Zumba Education Specialist, fitness professional, and businesswoman, serving in Business Development at Brewing Point Neighborhood Cafe. Despite juggling these different roles, she remains grounded in her belief that life is lived through music and community.

Growing up, Madelle has always surrounded herself with music and movement. “I was that kid who danced at every family gathering, every birthday, not because anyone told me to, but because it felt like home,” she says. As the years went on, dancing eventually became her bread and butter. In college, she took dance training seriously, citing it as one of the biggest decisions of her life. This commitment ultimately shaped what came after — becoming part of communities and gracing various stages.

Dance became more than just a passion; it became a language and her way of connecting with people. What keeps her going is the ability to feel powerful through music and movement. Through fitness, performance, and community, Madelle shares that she dances through the seasons of her life, with plans to continue doing so.

Madelle first rose to prominence in the dance world as a former member of the Philippine All‑Stars, the pioneering Filipino hip‑hop dance group that won the World Hip Hop Dance Championships in 2006 and 2008 — elevating Pinoy hip‑hop on the global stage. With her background in hip-hop dance, she says that being part of the culture taught her the remarkable values of community, creativity, and giving back. “It’s why I’m so passionate about creating spaces, events, and platforms where the next generation of dancers can level up and grow.”

With the community and fitness she lives with, Zumba eventually became the perfect avenue for that — a perfect harmony of rhythm, energy, and movement. As a Zumba Education Specialist, Madelle gets to travel the world to train and mentor instructors and enthusiasts. For her, it’s a calling, sharing that she feels a deep sense of hope whenever she leads a training or steps into an event.

She finds a sense of fulfillment seeing a room full of people who chose to simply show up for the session. “I always think, today might be the day someone finds their confidence, their courage, or their purpose through movement or simply the inspiration to keep going,” she says. Being able to represent the Philippines on a global stage is deeply fulfilling, allowing her to bring her story, truth, and culture with everything she has. Through dance and music, she can connect across borders — something she says she is truly grateful for.

When choosing the perfect music for her classes, she opts to create a journey around the world. “We use diverse, global genres and dance styles beyond its core Latin foundation. The right song can make someone feel confident in their body and suddenly believe they can do more than they thought,” she explains. A pop fan at heart, she loves incorporating P-pop, K-pop, and Latin pop into her workouts and even at parties. “Those genres have the perfect mix of melody, rhythm, and energy that make people want to move instantly. Pop music makes the room come alive,” she says. P-pop acts like SB19 always get her hyped. “It’s amazing to see how Pinoy music can move bodies and hearts all around the world,” she adds.

Beyond the world of dance and fitness, Madelle also gets to move within the world of business as Brewing Point‘s head of Business Development, which began as a simple neighborhood café on Congressional Avenue. The café was founded by Florian and Jun Enriquez in 2003, at a time when cafés were still a rarity — unlike today, when they line the streets. It was born from Jun’s vision of what it could become and Florian’s heart, drive, and hands-on approach, which brought that vision to life.

More than just a café, Brewing Point became a space for community where families could gather over meals, students could study, and creatives could find a place to connect. As the café grew, so did its menu and its spaces. Comfort food was offered to customers and became everyday favorites such as the Best BP Salpicao, OG Chicken Mozzarella, the best-selling Carrot Cake, and signature coffee drinks.

As Brewing Point expanded, its atmosphere became a space for music, gigs, as well as Zumba parties and fitness sessions. Going back to Madelle’s passion built around community, Brewing Point’s goal was to create a place that felt familiar and full of life. Aspiring musicians have platforms and spaces, such as cafés like Brewing Point, where they get to be seen, heard, and supported.

Madelle and Brewing Point believe that a café should be more than a stopover, but a space where people can gather, express themselves, and belong. “Keeping our doors open to creativity, whether it’s music, dance, or community gatherings, is just a continuation of what Brewing Point has stood for since day one,” she adds. “When our customers enjoy their food while listening to a new voice, it builds a connection. When an emerging artist gets their first crowd outside their circle of friends, it builds confidence.”

“Opening our spaces to artists, performers, and community events felt like a natural extension of that,” she shares. “Each branch carries its own rhythm. Our congressional branch has a studio that provides people with a space to move, host dance sessions, or gather for private events. Our Fisher Parkway branch has a music lounge that comes alive at night with local performers.”

She approaches business progressively, focusing on growth and people, and believing in embracing one another as human beings first. Handling a business can be taxing, but at the end of the day, Madelle never forgets to have fun. “When people are joyful, energized, connected, and given chances, everything else — creativity, success, and sustainability — naturally follows,” she says.

Moving at her own pace through the seasons of her life, Madelle shares how movement allows her to have a better headspace, “When I travel, I’m reminded of what’s possible. And when I see what my body can do, it gives me the confidence to try new things — not just in fitness, but in business and in life.”

Madelle is a testament to the fusion of music, dance, and media. She proves that it is possible to thrive in the business industry while continuing to create and perform. “It starts with a decision. Decide today to commit to your purpose, path, and plan – even when there is fear. There will be moments when it feels like you’re hanging on the edge, unsure if you should keep going,” she says. “Someone out there needs to hear your song, see your dance, and feel that they’re not alone — that there is hope. So, go do it.”
