HORI7ON express their admiration for how SB19 prepare for their live shows and talk about their beginnings and challenges training in South Korea — and more — on this week’s episode of Billboard Philippines Volumes.
Since their debut last year, the global P-pop boy group have consistently expanded their reach, bringing their unique flavor of Filipino music to South Korea and other parts of the world while cultivating a strong, growing fanbase here in the Philippines.
“It’s always so nice to be back in the Philippines because this is our motherland,” stated member Marcus about being able to perform in the country again, noting that it is where they got their start and where their original supporters are. On the topic of performing, Marcus also brought up recently performing with fellow P-pop acts for a special concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, where they shared the stage with G22, KAIA, Alamat, and SB19.
Upon being asked how it felt to share the stage with big names like SB19, leader Vinci expressed their gratefulness regarding the major impact the Kings of P-pop have made by paving the way for them. “We were very happy and honored to feel represented in that way before we were idols [ourselves] because they’re great performers.”
Furthermore, Vinci shares how when HORI7ON found out they would be performing with SB19 it felt like “a humbling experience” for them. “Nakita din namin ‘yung passion nila for their work. ‘Cause we practiced with them and saw the process of how they do their own drills and stuff. Kaya ang saya lang talaga na nakasama namin sila onstage. It was such good energy performing with them and yeah, just being with them.” (“We also saw their passion for their work. ‘Cause we practiced with them and saw the process of how they do their own drills and stuff. So it was just really fun that we got to be with them onstage. It was such good energy performing with them and yeah, just being with them.”)
Alongside these, the members of HORI7On also looked back on how each one of them got started with music, shared their experiences and challenges training in South Korea, discussed their latest single “Sumayaw, Sumunod,” their future plans, and more.
