Today (August 13, 2025), it was announced through StarPop (Star Music) Philippines’ official social media platforms that Kapuso actor and former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Will Ashley was signing with the label as a recording artist. In the caption of their post, the organization wrote, “Welcome to the StarPop PH family, Will Ashley!”
This would mark another step in the ongoing project between GMA Music and ABS-CBN’s Star Music, following the launch of Michelle Dee’s musical career. In a digital cover story previously written by Billboard Philippines, Roxy Liquigan, head of ABS-CBN Music, explains, “GMA and ABS have already collaborated in other businesses, like movies. And given the success of such ventures, we looked at the possibility of a collaboration in music. So Annette (Gozon-Valdes, GMA Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and GMA Music) and I, we had a good conversation about a potential collaboration with one another because we’re very honest.”
On GMA Music’s end, the collaboration is also a means to boost Original Pinoy Music (OPM) as a whole: “Filipinos should not compete within. The competition is outside because we want to lift up our unique Filipino music. The talent of the Filipino is limitless.”
Will Ashley is an up-and-coming actor under GMA Network. Most recently, he finished as the Second Big Placer with his duo-mate, Ralph De Leon, on Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.
