TAIPEI MUSIC EXPO (TMEX) returns from August 27 to 30 at Taipei Music Center, bringing together music industry professionals, artists, festivals, and brands from across the Asia-Pacific region.

Under the theme “Tune in to Taiwan. Sync with Asia,” the four-day event will feature more than 100 industry professionals from 15 markets and over 60 exhibiting brands, including Goldenvoice, Live Nation, Fuji Rock Festival, Summer Sonic, YG PLUS, Zandari Festa, MPMG, Zepp, Beggars Group, and Secretly Group.

TMEX will once again operate as a B2B2C platform, combining industry networking and business opportunities with showcases and live performances. The first two days will be dedicated to industry delegates, while the weekend will open to the public through the accompanying JAM JAM ASIA festival.

Among the most anticipated sessions at this year’s TMEX Forum is a conversation with the creative team behind Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters. Director Maggie Kang, producer Michelle Wong, and THEBLACKLABEL songwriter Danny Chung — who voices Baby Saja in the film — will discuss the film’s impact on Asian artists looking to enter global markets.

The forum will also feature Grammy-winning mastering engineer Howie Weinberg, who will make his Taiwan debut with a session exploring the sonic aesthetics behind more than 9,000 records. Other discussions will tackle festival curation, generative AI in music production, international artist marketing, and sustainability in live events, with speakers from companies including Suno and KKBOX.

Beyond its conference programming, TMEX’s exhibition floor will bring together music festivals, record labels, management companies, digital platforms, and music-related brands from Taiwan and the wider Asia-Pacific region. This year, regional music export agencies will also be represented, including Thailand’s Creative Economy Agency, the Vietnam Cultural Industry Development Association, Sounds Australia, and Taiwan’s TAICCA.

The weekend will then transition into JAM JAM ASIA, TMEX’s accompanying music festival, which will feature more than 80 acts from 14 markets across seven stages on August 29 and 30.

The lineup traverses the region’s diverse musical landscape, from Japanese city pop pioneer Taeko Onuki and Filipino American neo-soul artist ((( O ))) to Indonesian metal trio Voice of Baceprot, Bangkok rapper Réjizz, Korean-Australian rap collective 1300, Seoul indie band HOA, Japanese group ATARASHII GAKKO!, and hip-hop producer DJ KRUSH. Renowned British-Indian electronic band Asian Dub Foundation — best known for their Mercury Prize-nominated 1998 album Rafi’s Revenge — are also set to perform.

JAM JAM ASIA will also feature HYUKOH with Sunset Rollercoaster‘s Kuo, alongside Taiwanese math rock group Elephant Gym and psychedelic rock act Amazing Show. Other international showcase acts include TV TAIRIKU ONDO, presented in partnership with Fuji Rock Festival.

The festival’s seven-stage setup will span four indoor air-conditioned halls, a 3,000-capacity outdoor stage, free stages for emerging artists, and overnight DJ takeovers that extend from the daytime programming into the late night.

With its combination of industry exchange, emerging talent, and cross-border performances, TMEX aims to position Taipei as a meeting point for music communities across the Asia-Pacific — creating new pathways between artists, businesses, festivals, and audiences in the region.
