Amsterdam-based B2B distributor FUGA is making significant strides in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, marking a major expansion with new partnerships across the Philippines, Indonesia, and India.

The company, which is known for offering comprehensive distribution and marketing services, has achieved new milestones in the Philippine region, given the success of its key Filipino client, TJ Monterde, whose recent milestone of surpassing one billion streams on Spotify highlights the growing influence of FUGA within the region.

In addition to Monterde’s remarkable success, FUGA has secured multiple new deals in the Philippines, continuing to strengthen its presence. Among these is a partnership with GMA Music, one of the country’s leading labels, as well as Filipino battle-rap artist Pricetagg, who made waves with his debut solo album Barcode in 2019, featuring the hit single “Kontrabida.”

Beyond FUGA’s continued growth in the Philippines, such movements act as part of a broader APAC strategy that includes recent deals in Indonesia and India. In Indonesia, FUGA has joined forces with Maspam Company, home to popular singer-songwriter Pamungkas, whose track “To The Bone” dominated Spotify’s Indonesia Top 50 chart in 2021. The partnership will leverage FUGA’s distribution and marketing expertise to further promote Pamungkas’ catalog, alongside other artists like rising star Prince Husein.

Meanwhile, FUGA has also teamed up with Indonesian label and distributor Sintesa Pro, the label behind indie folk band Batas Senja, and is set to support the band’s upcoming album release with full distribution and marketing services.

As FUGA builds on its existing successes in APAC, the company’s growing client list speaks to its expanding influence in the region. Notable Filipino partnerships include top-tier labels such as ASINTADA — home to artist Matthaios, and MYX Music Magna Award winner Gloc-9, as well as Jesuit Communications Foundation, Lilystars Records, and Greyhoundz, whose XXV won Best Rock/Metal Recording at the 37th AWIT Awards.

Anita Zagar, General Manager of Korea & Business Development for APAC, highlighted the exceptional year the distributor has had, noting that the company is “excited to continue partnering with groundbreaking clients as we enter 2025 and further solidify our position in the region.”

FUGA’s expansion into the Philippines and beyond follows its acquisition by Downtown Music Holdings LLC in 2020 and Downtown’s recent $775 million purchase of Virgin Music Group, further strengthening FUGA’s position as the largest full-service B2B music distributor globally. The company, which serves over 1,000 music rights holders, offers a suite of world-class services — including white-label distribution, analytics dashboards, global physical distribution, and marketing services, along with royalty accounting and rights management.
