Sarah Geronimo just got her first hit on the Top Philippine Songs chart.

The Popstar Royalty just debuted onto the all-Filipino music chart this week (dated August 31, 2024) at No. 17 with her 2016 track “Maybe This Time.” This comes as Geronimo’s first entry on the coveted music chart, which ranks the top 25 local songs in the Philippines.

“Maybe This Time” — which is a cover of American country singer-songwriter Michael Martin Murphey’s iconic 1983 classic — was initially released in 2016 as part of the official soundtrack of the Filipino rom-com movie of the same name that starred Geronimo and Coco Martin. The song recently regained virality online because of a dance trend, seeing a recent resurgence in streams.

Beyond Geronimo, this week’s Top Philippine Songs chart also sees Nobita’s debut with their 2020 song, “Ikaw Lang,” while the top 10 remains relatively unchanged with the exception of James Reid‘s “Randomantic” rising to No. 9. Dionela and Jay R continue their reign over the Filipino music chart, having held onto the No. 1 spot with “Sining” for five consecutive weeks.

Billboard Philippines‘ Top Philippine Songs chart is the country’s music chart that focuses exclusively on Filipino songs, spotlighting the most notable as well as fast-rising musical acts and their songs from all over the Philippines. On a weekly basis, it ranks the top 25 tracks in the country based on both audio and streaming data compiled by leading music and entertainment data provider Luminate.
