December Avenue’s “Sa Ngalan Ng Pag-Ibig” Breaks Into The Philippines Hot 100
Initially released last April 2017 as a single, the heartfelt hit from the Filipino pop rock band serves as the fifth track from their sophomore album Langit Mong Bughaw, which came out last December 2019.

“Sa Ngalan Ng Pag-Ibig” by December Avenue has made its initial entry on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 during the week of March 1, 2025. Today, February 26, 2025 (Wednesday), it makes its debut on the chart at No. 89, joining December Avenue’s other hit single “Bulong,” which holds its position at the No. 68 spot this week.
The pop rock track was initially released as a single last April 29, 2017 before being included on the band’s sophomore studio album Langit Mong Bughaw, which came out last December 20, 2019. To this day, “Sa Ngalan Ng Pag-Ibig” is still one of biggest December Avenue hits, with its catchy instrumentals and emotional lyricism exploring the heartbreaking realities of lost love continuing to resonate with many Filipinos even until now.
For the top 10 of the Billboard Philippines Hot 100, Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “luther” continues its reign at No. 1, followed by Dionela’s “Marilag” at No. 2 and TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan’s “Palagi” at No. 3. Immediately after them are Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With A Smile” at No. 4, followed by Amiel Sol’s “Sa Bawat Sandali” and Yung Kai’s “Blue” at No. 5 and No. 6 respectively.
Meanwhile, BINI’s “Blink Twice” achieves its debut ranking at No. 7, and is followed by Billie Ellish’s “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” at No. 8, Dionela and Jay R’s “sining” at No. 9, and SZA’s “BMF” at No. 10.
