SZA is launching Not Beauty, a curated makeup line available exclusively at pop-up stores during her and Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘Grand National Tour’ in the US.
The first product from the lip collection debuts with three signature lip gloss shades: “In The Flesh,” “Strawberry Jelly,” and “Quartz,” each priced at USD 23 or roughly PHP 1,300.
In addition to the glosses, the full lineup of the brand will include lip stains, lip liners, and lip creams. Additionally, the packaging takes inspiration from wood textures, plants, insects, and bold natural hues. According to the press release, Not Beauty is committed to being cruelty-free, gluten-free, and vegan.

In a statement, the “Kill Bill” singer explained that her beauty brand aims to fill a gap in the market, saying, “Not Beauty wasn’t about me trying to enter the beauty market, it’s about me filling a need. It’s about me needing something that lasted as long as my show, as long as my conversation, as long as my date.”
“There was nothing that existed that did that for me and also made me feel moisturized. It’s just something I wanted to share, something that worked for me, and I hope it works for you too,” she adds. SZA wore her lip gloss during her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance with Lamar last February, when they performed “All the Stars” and “Luther.”
As for the concept behind the brand’s name, the singer-songwriter says it serves as a reminder not to imitate other brands in the market: “Don’t just make a random celebrity brand just because you can. My whole life is about being pressure-free but still trying your best, and that’s what [the brand] is about.”
