LISA, Doja Cat, and RAYE joined forces at the 97th Academy Awards to pay tribute to the legacy of the James Bond franchise. They performed renditions of iconic theme songs from past films — “Live and Let Die” from 1973’s Live and Let Die, “Diamonds Are Forever” from 1971’s Diamonds Are Forever, and “Skyfall” from 2012’s Skyfall.

The tribute honored longtime Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, who received Honorary Oscars at the 15th Governors Award. This also follows Amazon MGM Studios’ recent franchise takeover through a joint venture with the producing duo.

To introduce the medley, Oscar winner Halle Berry, who starred in the 2002’s Die Another Day, shared her great pleasure of working with Broccoli and Wilson, saying “[…] They don’t just produce Bond movies, they were the heart and soul of this franchise for decades.” The Substance star Margaret Qualley then took the stage in a red dress, performing a dance number to the iconic 007 theme as a montage of scenes from past Bond films played in the background.

BLACPINK’s LISA rocked the Oscar stage with her stunning rendition of “Live and Let Die,” originally performed by Wings and written by Paul and Linda McCartney as the theme for the 1973 film starring Roger Moore.

This year’s Oscars was a night of medleys. The ceremony opened with Wicked stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo performing “Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz, “Home” from Wiz, and “Defying Gravity” from Wicked. The final performance of the night came from Queen Latifah, who paid tribute to the late Quincy Jones with her rendition of “Ease on Down the Road” from The Wiz.
