Kyle Ecchari joins the cast of 100 Awit Para Kay Stella (100 Songs For Stella), the much-awaited to the 2017 romantic-drama hit, 100 Tula Para Kay Stella (100 Poems for Stella).

Directed by Jason Paul Laxamana (Sosyal Climbers, Mercury is Mine), the sequel sees the return of leads Bela Padilla as Stella and JC Santos as Fidel. Ecchari takes on the role of Clyde, who will compete for Stella’s love and serve as a third party or “obstacle,” as revealed in a look test for the film.

The 21-year-old singer-actor expressed his gratitude for joining the project, saying, “I am grateful. Nakaka-pressure kasi ang laki na (There’s some pressure because it’s a huge project). But I am not allowing the pressure to get to me. I am enjoying the ride.”

100 Awit Para Kay Stella picks up 15 years after the events of the original film, which was set from 2004 to 2010. The original film followed Fidel, a college student who dedicates 100 poems to Stella, a woman he secretly loves and who dreams of becoming a well-known rock star. Fidel struggles with his stutter and faces personal challenges along the way.

Meanwhile, Santos and Padilla shared their sentiments about revisiting their characters nearly a decade later, reflecting on the nostalgia and how they approached portraying their roles in the present day.

The sequel is also set to explore modern dating trends, especially how technology and social changes have reshaped relationships.

Additionally, Laxamana promises the sequel will resolve loose threads from the original film while also offering themes that Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences can relate to. He also revealed that the film will feature strong musical elements, with plans to eventually bring the story to the stage.
