Ice Cube stars as a fictional insurance claims adjuster in a bizarre new Minecraft advertisement, inviting players to submit videos of their in-game accidents under the hashtag #CubeClaim.

In the short ad, the actor-rapper appears in an office setting, working behind a decades-old computer, and introduces himself: “I’m Ice Cube, and this is my ice cubicle. I’m here to insure your cubes.”

Fans have taken to social media to report that they submitted their videos, hoping for a chance to have their in-game mishaps recognized, but all claims have been denied by the hip-hop legend.

This bizarre ad follows the rapper’s starring role in the critically panned War of the Worlds remake, released on Prime Video. In the screenlife thriller, where the story unfolds entirely through computer and smartphone screens, he plays a U.S. government computer security analyst whose daily life is thrown into chaos by a sudden alien attack.

Despite the negative reviews, the film’s unique format and Ice Cube’s performance garnered attention. It is also slowly developing a cult following all thanks to its “so-bad-it’s-good” quality.

The popular game has recently been teaming up with musicians and entertainers as of late, especially after the blockbuster A Minecraft Movie film adaptation featured Jack Black.

A song from the film, performed by Black, “Steve’s Lava Chicken,” clocks in at just 34 seconds and became the shortest song ever to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. It debuted at No. 78 on the chart dated May 3, 2025.
