On the May 20, 2025 episode of Run Jin, an online variety show hosted by BTS’ Jin, Tom Cruise makes a surprise appearance to promote Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
In the episode, Cruise and Jin shared lighthearted moments, including a moment where Jin asked Cruise, “Do you know BTS?” — a common cultural in-joke in Korea when engaging with visiting foreigners and celebrities. Cruise shared how he is a fan of what BTS has accomplished over the years.
Meanwhile, in his twelfth visit to Korea, the Hollywood star shared his deep admiration for South Korea, praising its food, people, and culture. For Jin, the episode was a full-circle moment, as he revealed that the first movie he watched after turning 15 was a Mission: Impossible film, which had been restricted for younger viewers due to its intense action scenes.
Another highlight of the episode was the “Don’t Say You Love Me” singer surprising his family, especially his mother, a big fan of Cruise, with a video call featuring the actor.
Meanwhile, the second half of the episode took a thrilling turn, as Cruise presented Jin with a secret mission, just like a member of the fictional Impossible Mission Force (IMF) from the franchise. The mission, should Jin choose to accept it, was to complete special tasks and deactivate a “bomb” in Yangpyeong-gun, a county in the Gyeonggi Province.
