Lisa is coming out with a new single.
On June 18, the BLACKPINK member confirmed that she will be releasing a new solo single titled “Rockstar” on June 27. Lisa broke the news through her Instagram story, after initially teasing the single earlier this month on TikTok.
This will come as Lisa’s first release since signing with RCA Records, in partnership with her own company LLOUD, which was established in February 2023. Launched in an effort to create a platform to showcase her distinctive vision for music and entertainment, LLOUD was established after Lisa’s departure (as a solo artist) from her longtime label, YG Entertainment, last December.
The rapper-singer made her solo debut in 2018, with the release of her singles “Lalisa” and “Money” — the latter being the first-ever K-pop song to obtain over a billion streams on Spotify in 2023.
As for BLACKPINK, the group are currently taking a break from their full-band activities following their world tour in support of their chart-topping sophomore album, BORN PINK. As a group, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosê, and Lisa renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment, but then parted ways with the company to pursue their solo endeavors.
