Blooms have more reasons to be proud of their OT8. BINI Chapter 1: Born to Win, the documentary chronicling their origin story, was shortlisted in the Best Documentary in the Biography and Profiles category of the 2025 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards.
The documentary, directed by Jet Leyco (For My Alien Friend) and written by journalist Jeff Canoy, was among the shortlisted entries from hundreds of TV and film entries from around the world and was unveiled on the official website of the awarding body. Produced under iWant Originals and ABS-CBN News Documentaries, it offers an intimate look at The Nation’s Girl Group as they prepare in the days leading up to their sold-out three-night ‘Biniverse’ concert at the New Frontier Theater.
The film also recounts each member’s humble beginnings and their journey through the hardships and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, culminating in their monumental success as game changers in the P-pop music scene.
Established in 1957, the New York Festivals are composed of related annual arts and media awards based in New York City, which include the New York Festivals Advertising Awards, “Advertising and Marketing Effectiveness” AME Awards, Bowery Awards, Global Awards, Radio Awards, TV & Film Awards, and MIDAS Awards.
With winners being announced on May 22, BINI Chapter 1: Born to Win is available to stream on iWant. In addition to this, BINI Chapter 2: Here With You was also released in 2024, with the third chapter still awaiting its release.
