ALAMAT’s Taneo Lands First Lead Role In Feature Film ‘Hum’
The P-pop idol previously made his acting debut in a supporting role for the 2022 film Expensive Candy.

Taneo Sebastian, best known by his stage name Taneo and as the leader of the multicultural P-pop boy group ALAMAT, is set to take on his first major role in the upcoming feature film, Hum.
Marking his first-ever lead role, the P-pop star has been cast as the young cowboy Toma, as confirmed by the Hollywood-based news site Deadline on September 1, 2026. Set in the province of Benguet, Hum follows a veterinary student gifted with the ability to understand animals on a journey to unravel the mysterious language of a wild man who warns of a forthcoming earthquake.
The 26-year-old idol-slash-actor describes the project as an opportunity to explore a different side of himself. “What really made me say yes was the story and the opportunity to be part of something different. I was also excited to challenge myself as an actor,” he tells Deadline.
Hum is the debut feature film of Sundance award-winning indigenous Filipino filmmaker Don Josephus Raphael Eblahan. Taneo is joined by Ymeiliza Tabora, Sasa Cabalquinto, as well as Bruce Venida, who all previously starred in Eblahan’s award-winning short film Vox Humana. Rounding out the main cast are Karl Medina, Jemimah Bogbog, Handiong Kapuno, and Ranyag Quitasol.
Making his acting debut in 2022, the ALAMAT member starred in the film Expensive Candy, followed by a supporting role in the 2023 psychological horror film Marita and 2024 romance-drama film Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko.
Taneo is part of the P-pop boy group ALAMAT with fellow members Mo, Tomás, R-ji, Alas, and Jao. They were named Billboard Philippines’ P-pop Rising Class of 2025 and are now gearing up for their upcoming concert at the New Frontier Theater on November 8, 2026. ALAMAT also recently released the official music video for their track “Sinigang,” which appears on their 2025 studio album, DESTINO.
