Not only is Cebu a favorite among Filipinos, it’s also a frequent destination for many international stars. That’s why it’s no surprise that many K-Pop idols flock to the province to kick back and relax.
Whether it’s going canyoneering at Kawasan Falls, island hopping around Mactan, or eating freshly caught seafood in Lapu-Lapu City, we listed down the spots that some of your favorite K-pop idols visited on their vacation. These are definitely places that you should add to your itinerary when you make your way to the Queen City of the South.
Learn about culture at Fort San Pedro
TWICE’s Jihyo was spotted vacationing in Cebu in 2019. One of the spots she visited was Fort San Pedro, a museum in Cebu City. The former military structure was constructed during the Spanish colonial era, and now sits in the historical enclave of Plaza Independencia near the city’s port area. In the fort’s museum area, you can find Spanish artifacts, art, documents, paintings, and sculptures, which give a peek into what it was like during the early years of Philippine history.
Canyoneering at Kawasan Falls
Back in 2019, Ha Sung Woon, former VIXX member Ravi, SHINee’s Taemin, HOTSHOT’s Timoteo, and EXO’s Kai went on an excursion to Cebu and pretty much hit all of the most popular activities to do on the island. One example was their canyoneering trip to the famous Kawasan Falls in Badian. The area is composed of multiple waterfalls, ranging in distance and height. You can choose to go cliff jumping, go on a natural water slide, trekking, and more.
Island Hopping in Mactan
One of Cebu’s most famous activities is island hopping. Mactan Island (where the airport is located) is chock-full of different services that can take you around beautiful islands, reefs, and sites. The group didn’t specify where exactly they went island hopping to, but Serena Watersports offers island hopping, alongside other watersports like jetskiing, wakeboarding, parasailing, kayaking, banana boats, and more.
Scuba Diving in Malapascua
During their trip to Cebu, Ravi was one of the idols that got their scuba diving license. While it’s not exactly clear where they are in this picture, one of the province’s best scuba diving spots is in Malapascua Island, an island on the northernmost point of Cebu. Here, you can see animals like the thresher shark and other large schools of fish.
Eat fresh seafood at Red Crab
Just before the pandemic hit, ASTRO’s Sanha uploaded pictures of him eating at the Red Crab Seafood Grill in Lapu Lapu City. The restaurant is near different resorts and beaches in the area, and later pictures saw Sanha enjoying Mactan Island’s signature sun and the waves.

EXO’s Kai snapped a few pictures of his stay at the Bluewater Maribago Resort in Mactan. The resort, which has been a go-to favorite for both locals and foreigners, they have sprawling beaches and an indoor pool section that is framed by their in-house restaurant and cafe.
