Equally soothing is Roberts’ verse, making for an overall dreamy sound as the duo sing about sincerity and devotion to one’s significant other.
“It’s a simple but very cute and emotional song about how you see another person as ‘the one’ for you,” Gwynth said. “It’s for everyone who’s even just a little bit in love these days.”
The single also marks Gwynth’s second Tagalog song after “HULING PAALAM..,” which came out on May 15. In a press release, the Filipino-Belgian singer shared how she envisioned the track as a duet until a friend suggested she collaborate with Roberts.
“It was honestly nerve-wracking for me because it was gonna be my first song with someone who primarily sings in Tagalog,” she revealed. “I’m usually a bit of a shy type but it was nice because we were able to bond over the song.”
Speaking on the track, Roberts said, “The first time I heard ‘BITUIN..,’ I immediately fell in love with it. Working on [‘BITUIN..’] with Cyra was a fun and natural process. She’s great to work with, and we spent a lot of time sharing ideas and talking through our thoughts on the song.”
Other than Roberts, Gwynth also worked with fellow songwriter and frequent collaborator Luke April of Novocrane and PLAYERTWO. Besides aiding with the production and Tagalog lyrics, April also convinced Gwynth to keep the song for herself, as she initially thought of giving it to another artist.
Released alongside the single, the official visualizer showcases both singers by a cliff overlooking the city lights. Watch the video below:
The single will be featured on Gwynth’s long-awaited sophomore album, entitled REALEYES.., which she first previewed in Belgium last February.
