Mariah Carey is set to receive her Billboard Chart Achievement Award for “All I Want For Christmas Is You” 29 years after the song was released. She will receive the accolade at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards to be held on November 19.
Carey is also slated to perform at the event alongside acts like Bebe Rexha, Peso Pluma, NewJeans, Karol G, Morgan Wallen, and Stray Kids.

Released as the lead single from Carey’s fourth studio album, Merry Christmas, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” first came out on October 29, 1994. In fact, the song holds the record for the longest gap between being released and reaching number one in both the United States and United Kingdom.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” has altogether sold 16 million copies worldwide, earning Carey an estimated $72 million. It is currently ranked number one on Billboard’s Greatest Of All Time Holiday 100 Songs.
Carey is the best-selling female artist of all time, having sold over 200 million albums to date. She has the most chart-toppers of any solo artist in history with 19 number-one singles (18 of which she wrote) on the Billboard Hot 100.
The singer-songwriter has won Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, and a World Music Award, among others. Not to mention, she has three Guinness World Records to her name.
The Philippines is one of the singer’s top audiences, with 563,358 listeners as of writing in Quezon City, beating the likes of London, Sydney, São Paulo, and Los Angeles. Carey herself even acknowledged the country back in September when her song received 316,000 Spotify streams, posting: “Not yet!!!! I’ll allow it for my Filipino lambs though!”
