Beabadoobee returns with her brand-new single, “Switchblade,” released on July 14, 2026 via Dirty Hit and Interscope Records.
The track is the second single of her forthcoming fourth studio album, Pylon, which releases on September 18. The rock-driven record is described to be her most complex record yet, leaning towards rock and revolving around feelings of anger, depression, loneliness, and being deeply pathological in love.
“Switchblade” deconstructs its metaphor and wonders about self-defense being act of bravery. “Do you start the fight or take the flight? Is it wrong or right to try to,” says in the pre-chorus of the song.
“Pylon is about accepting that negative feelings are going to come back — accepting the insecurity and feeling confused. It’s all a necessary part of growing and knowing yourself better. You have to go through all that shit, I have to write about it,” the Iloilo-born singer-songwriter shares.

“Switchblade” follows the album’s first single “Sun Has Set,” released in June along with the announcement of the album.
