P-pop pioneers MNL48 are parting ways and have officially announced that they will conclude all group activities and disband at the end of May, after an eight-year journey.
“Throughout its activities, MNL48 has been supported by many fans, members, staff, and all those involved. However, after carefully considering the sustainability of the management structure, the future operating environment, and the various conditions necessary to continue supporting the group in a stable manner, we have come to the conclusion that it would be difficult to continue MNL48’s activities going forward,” as stated in the official announcement.
“As management, we have done our utmost to carry MNL48 forward in the best possible way. We deeply apologize for not being able to fully meet everyone’s expectations in the end,” the statement added.
To mark the end of an era, the group also announced the release of the music video for “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie,” their final work as a group. The release serves as a fitting farewell and a show of gratitude to their dedicated fans who have supported the group all these years.
“We sincerely apologize for the sudden nature of this announcement and for arriving at this difficult decision. We deeply express our heartfelt gratitude once again for all the love and support you have given to MNL48 over the years,” the statement concluded.
At the start of the year, the group’s operating company name was officially changed to P.O.S Inc, which would have been the start of a fresh and exciting chapter.
