Janine Teñoso, or Janine, returns with the release of her two new singles, “Hinga” and “Iisa,” which she describes as part of her “lover girl era.”
The dual release project is all about breathing through emotions and emotional exclusivity or devotion, captured through “Hinga” and “Iisa,” respectively.
“Hinga” is about learning to pause and wait for the right moment when loving a significant other, in order to save oneself from regret and from ruining something great. “Huwag ka sanang maghanap ng iba (iba, ah, ah) / Pag kailangan ko lang na huminga (hinga, ah, ah),” the singer-songwriter pleads. (Please don’t look for anyone else, anyone else / When all I need is just to breathe, breathe)
On the other hand, “Iisa” speaks of devotion and vulnerability, best describing the feeling of opening one’s heart to something new, right, and everything in between. If yearning has its positive traits, they are best amplified through this track.
The chorus goes,“Pag ‘di pa alam / Aking dapat gawin / At hindi pa handa / Na mundo’y harapin / Iisa lang, iisa lang hahana-hanapin (Ha, ha, ha).” (If I still don’t know what I should do / And I’m not yet ready to face the world / There’s only one, just one I’ll be searching for).

The two singles follow her first major solo concert, held at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City in September 2025. The dual release also comes after her single “Pikit Mata,” which was released in May 2025.
