SB19 have just been announced to perform at Japan’s forthcoming Summer Sonic Festival 2026.
News of the Kings of P-pop’s participation at the highly anticipated music festival follows the recent update of its lineup, which adds a number of international and regional talents to an already stacked event lineup. At the festival, SB19 are set to perform on the second day of the Tokyo leg, scheduled for this August 15 (Saturday) at the Zozomarine Stadium and Makuhari Messe. Though the group will not perform at the Osaka set of shows for the festival, they will be performing alongside renowned acts like musical icon David Byrne, Alex Warren, Steve Lacy, Cornelius, Viagra Boys, and several more on the second day of the Tokyo leg.
This year’s Summer Sonic Festival marks the 25th Anniversary of the beloved event, and will feature the likes of The Strokes, BLACKPINK’s JENNIE, Jamiroquai, FKA Twigs, LE SSERAFIM, Keshi, JADE, Audrey Nuna, mgk, BABYMETAL, Steve Lacy, Alex Warren, David Byrne, and a whole lot more — taking place across two cities consecutively from August 16 to August 17.
SB19’s upcoming performance at Summer Sonic 2026 marks another milestone for Filipino talent on the global stage, following the recent announcement of their inclusion at the prestigious Lollapalooza festival, also scheduled for August of this year. The group marks the first Filipino act to perform at the festival, which will see the likes of Charli XCX, Lorde, John Summit, Olivia Dean, Tate McRae, JENNIE, and The XX headline the event.
In other related SB19 news, the group is set to release their sophomore studio album Wakas At Simula this Friday (March 27), which will feature a total of twenty-four tracks. The album will feature a brand new selection of songs, as well as rerecorded versions of the tracks from their PAGSIBOL EP, together with a compilation of the tracks from their PAGTATAG! and Simula At Wakas records. To celebrate the album’s release, SB19 is set to perform a massive concert of the same name at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City this April 18.
