Renowned actor Elijah Canlas has announced the forthcoming release of his first-ever album, set to be titled South II.
The news was shared to the public via his and Island Records Philippines‘ official social media platforms, wherein he revealed the album’s title, artwork, full track list, and fast-approaching release date of February 27, 2026. “No characters portrayed here,” Canlas states in the post’s caption, before continuing with a confessional series of thoughts. “i often consume artists’ music through albums more than playlists. [I] can’t believe i’m about to drop my very own debut album. [A] big thanks to all my collaborators for helping me discover my voice and a sound that further explores my truth,” he continued.

Prior to the album’s announcement, Canlas dropped the latest single off the album with “u wanna be?” which featured rising independent hip-hop artist, SHNTI. The track saw the two joining forces for a fresh and funky hip-hop track, and even teamed up for a colorful and equally energetic music video. Before that, he also released the gritty rap anthem, “Joseph K.”, which came with a cinematic music video directed by renowned director/cinematographer, Dan Villegas.
In addition to the news of South II‘s fast-approaching release, it was also announced that the album will be released on physical media formats.
