Harry Styles has been announced as the curator of the 2026 Meltdown Festival, the world’s longest-running artist-curated music festival, presented by London’s Southbank Centre as part of its 75th anniversary celebration.
The 11-day festival, set for June 11 to 21, 2026, will bring together multiple art forms in one space, with Styles spearheading the artistic direction.
“I’m deeply honoured to curate the Meltdown Festival, especially for the Southbank Centre’s 75th anniversary year. My goal as the curator is to share the music and art that I love, and to celebrate the rich history of the venue. We both share a passionate belief that music is a vital part of life,” says Styles in an official statement.
This year’s edition will also feature a headlining concert from Styles, along with interactive, participatory events for the public, most of which are free.
Established in 1993, Meltdown has been an integral part of shaping the UK’s cultural landscape, inviting an artist each year to curate the program. Past curators include Little Simz in 2025, as well as notable artists and musicians such as David Byrne, Yoko Ono, David Bowie, and Patti Smith.
The Southbank Centre, the largest arts centre in the UK, comprises three main performance spaces — the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Purcell Room, along with the Hayward Gallery and the National Poetry Library.
The announcement comes as the pop star enters his disco era with his fourth studio album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, his first album in over four years, includes the lead single “Aperture.”
