Clara Benin is back with a brand new single, entitled “the one to blame.”
The Filipino singer-songwriter released the new song on February 11, 2026. “Most of my songs come from heartbreak, longing, or overthinking everything, but this one came from learning how to let someone in without running away,” stated Benin in her post announcing the song’s release. “Hope it brings you a little warmth and keeps you company wherever you’re listening.”
“the one to blame” was first announced by Benin in a press statement for her previous single “muscle memory,” which came out on January 30, 2026. The two new songs are her first solo single since “hiding in the bathroom” — a bonus track on the deluxe edition of Benin’s sophomore album befriending my tears.
Notably, “the one to blame” is part of Clara Benin’s upcoming EP that is set to be released sometime this year.
With the song’s release, the “small town” singer is slated to debut the new song live during a Valentine’s Day show at Eastwood in Quezon City February 14, 2026 (Saturday). “Since it’s Valentine’s Day, I want to make it extra special and perform ‘the one to blame’ live for the very first time. I’m excited to share this love song with everyone,” she shared in the aforementioned press statement.
