The Wish Music Awards (WMA) entered a new decade with its 11th edition, held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Celebrating the best of the industry, various OPM acts graced the stage with electrifying performances that showcased the enduring power and creativity of the Filipino music scene.

The event kicked off with a commanding performance by none other than TJ Monterde, who would later take home Wish Ballad Song of the Year for “Darating Din” and Wish Artist of the Year, as well as being named the inaugural KDR Icon of Breaking Boundaries. He performed both “Darating Din” and the chart-topping hit “Palagi” to the WMA crowd, setting the perfect tone for the night.

Meanwhile, Earl Agustin and Amiel Sol formed an all-star tag team with a never-before-seen collaboration, performing duet renditions of Agustin’s “Tibok” and Sol’s “Sa Bawat Sandali.” These songs sparked one of the night’s biggest roars from the crowd, as both tracks — mainstays on the Billboard Philippines charts — have captured the hearts and ears of OPM fans across the nation. Agustin went on to take home Wish Contemporary R&B/Neo-Soul Song of the Year for “Tayong Dalawa” and Wish Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

Fitterkarma, who entered 2026 on a high note with their beloved track “Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II” reaching the top of the Billboard Philippines Hot 100, made their WMA debut performing the chart-topping hit. The crowd sang along passionately to some of the song’s most replayable lyrics, and the band did not disappoint, leaving a strong first impression on the WMA stage.

The WMAs also paid tribute to gamechangers, industry icons, and OPM legends who have shaped the music scene. APO Hiking Society received the KDR Icon of Musical Excellence award, with Jim Paredes and Boboy Garovillo accepting on behalf of fellow member Danny Javier, who passed away in 2022. The night honored the iconic group’s contributions to OPM, highlighting their enduring legacy, as listeners continue to embrace their timeless hits even to this day. Adding to the tribute, Over October delivered a moving rendition of the group’s classics “When I Met You” and “Panalangin.”

One of the performers who drew the night’s biggest cheers, IV OF SPADES made a grand return to the WMA stage with a fiery performance — literally, as flames erupted on stage — of “Monster” from their sophomore album Andalucia. The band followed it up with their comeback single, “Aura.” The excitement and cheers from fans were a testament to how much the WMA had missed the band.

Adding to the momentum were the Female Alphas of P-pop, G22. They made a bold statement with their breathtaking, heart-pumping performance of “LAKUMPAKE!,” solidifying their status as a formidable force in P-pop. Jaz, Alfea, and AJ have proven time and again that while their songs are infectiously catchy, their live performances add even more intensity.

As the night drew to a close, Loonie, one of the local hip-hop scene’s finest voices, took the stage with Frizzle Anne, performing their duet “May Nanalo Na.” He also performed “Ikigai”, a collaboration with Dionela. The WMA crowd then erupted when one of OPM’s leading R&B/neo-soul voices, Arthur Nery, entered the stage brimming with aura. The two performed their collaboration “Palaisipan.”

Finally, Loonie took the crowd back to the early 2010s with a trio performance of “Tao Lang,” closing the night on an unforgettable high note as the WMA looks forward to even more celebrations in its next decade.
