Filipino indie folk group shirebound have released their latest single, titled “sayo lang.”
Touted as the “band’s first single together,” the newly dropped track was produced by Ysanygo‘s Ygo Ferraz, mixed by Xergio Ramos, and marks the first-ever release written and composed by all of the group’s members. The song features overtly romantic themes dedicated to one’s special someone, starting off as a piano-laden track that gradually evolves into a warm, fully fleshed-out band sound that results in a cinematic sound fit for a romantic film’s soundtrack.
To commemorate the single’s launch, shirebound are also set to host a special single launch event, titled ‘SHIRENANIGANS: sayo lang Single Launch’ today (November 7, 2025) at 123 Block, Mandala Park, Mandaluyong. The forthcoming gig is set to feature special performances from guests like Lola Amour, Munimuni, and Shanne Dandan, as well as the band themselves. Pre-sale tickets are priced at Php 500 (Php 400 for students), while walk-in passes will also be available at Php 600.
“sayo lang” marks the group’s latest release, following their collaboration with Jan Roberts earlier this year on the track “Hingalo.” Prior to that, their last release was “Power and Sleep” from 2022, which was dropped when the band was previously a solo project. Earlier this June, the rising indie-folk band also entered the Philippines Hot 100 chart with their 2019 single, “Waltz of Four Left Feet,” which positioned itself at the No. 52 spot.
