Eraserheads: Combo on the Run continues to soar on the international stage. The documentary about the legendary OPM rock band is making waves overseas, with upcoming screenings at the 45th Annual Hawai’i International Film Festival (HIFF) in the United States and the International Sound and Film Music Festival (ISFMF) in Samobor, Croatia.
The acclaimed documentary will be part of HIFF’s official selection for Spotlight on the Philippines, showcasing new Filipino films that are both groundbreaking and redefining modern storytelling. The film will be screened at the Consolidated Theatres Kapolei 3 on October 30, 2025, at 6:00 PM in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Among the showcase entries is the documentary Food Delivery: Fresh from the West Philippine Sea, which captures the daily struggles of Filipino fishermen, as well as the Philippine Coast Guard and Navy, as they navigate the contested waters of the West Philippine Sea.
The lineup also features Lav Diaz’s Magellan, the Philippines’ official entry to the 98th Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film. Another highlight is Jerrold Tarog’s Quezon, an epic historical drama starring Jericho Rosales and the conclusion of the ‘Bayaniverse‘ trilogy, which began with 2015’s Heneral Luna and continued with 2018’s Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.
Eraserheads: Combo on the Run has been nominated for Best International Film Documentary at the ISFMF, regarded as one of the three largest and most prestigious sound and film music festivals in the world. The festival will take place on October 6, 2025.
In a press statement, director and producer Diane Ventura expressed her excitement over the international recognition: “Sharing a story and music that are distinctly ours, yet resonate with a wider audience, is inspiring. Representing the Philippines on this stage is a privilege.”
The film is also set for an official theatrical release in the Middle East, Australia, the United States, Canada, and the UK in the coming months.
