It suddenly feels like 2008 again. The Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato turned back the clock to their Camp Rock days with a surprise performance during the Jonas Brothers’ JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour opening show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on August 11 (PH Time).
Together, they performed a nostalgic medley of songs from the two Camp Rock films, including “Gotta Find You,” “This Is Me,” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.” The moment, marking nearly 17 years since the original film premiered, reignited rumors and speculation from fans about a possible third installment in Camp Rock 3. However, as of this writing, no official announcement has been released.
On TikTok, Joe Jonas also posted a video backstage alongsige Lovato where they lip-synced “Wouldn’t Change a Thing,” from Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.
Kicking off their 20th anniversary North American tour, the Jonas Brothers are joined by Marshmello, Boys Like Girls, and The All-American Rejects as opening acts across 52 shows through November. The tour coincides with the release of the band’s seventh studio album, Greetings from Your Hometown. Meanwhile, Lovato released her latest track, “Fast,” which will be part of her upcoming ninth studio album.
Camp Rock, the beloved Disney Channel Original Movie, premiered on the Disney Channel in June 2008. The musical follows Lovato as Mitchie, a teen who works in the camp kitchen so she can spend her summer at a prestigious music camp. When pop star Shane Gray, played by Joe Jonas, arrives with his bandmates to serve as counselors, he eventually helps Mitchie find her voice.
The film not only launched the careers of its stars but also produced a hit soundtrack and spawned a sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, in 2010.
