Hollywood star Pedro Pascal shares his affinity for the beloved gothic rock band The Cure, while promoting his latest film, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

In a BBC interview promoting the film, Pascal was asked about the one song from the band he would like the radio station to play on air. His answer? It was the band’s 1987 classic, “Just Like Heaven.”

Pascal was also asked if he had a goth phase in his younger years, to which he replied, “I didn’t. I wish I had, I guess I just didn’t have the courage to.” Vanessa Kirby, who plays Sue Storm / Invisible Woman in the film, was also present in the interview and was surprised by his answer. The Last of Us star revealed that he was more of a theater kid. But he shared that he went to a school with all the Visual Arts kids sporting the Robert Smith look, complete with the mascara and fingernail polish.

In November 2024 while filming the Marvel film in the United Kingdom, he was seen dancing alongside his The Fantastic Four: First Steps co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who plays Ben Grimm / The Thing, at the band’s concert in London’s Troxy.

On Instagram, he posted a video of the band performing “Plainsong” during the same concert. He had been waiting since 1989 to see the song played live. The song is part of their acclaimed eighth studio album, Disintegration, released in 1989.
