Singaporean genre-bending pop singer-songwriter ALICIA DC and Filipino math rock musician Gabba have joined forces on a brand-new single, entitled “Fall.”

Released on August 6, 2025 (Wednesday), the track was first announced by Gabba’s label A Spur Of The Moment Project on July 23, 2025 (Wednesday). Super excited to share this track Alicia DC and I have been working on,” stated Gabba in his own post announcing the song. “It’s been a breath of fresh air trying out new things and bouncing off creative ideas with Alicia. Can’t wait for you all to hear it!”

A math rock song detailing “the story of a lovers’ quarrel through vulnerable lyrics and dynamic shifts in its instrumentation,” “Fall” came from “Alicia DC’s effort to collaborate with artists outside of Singapore,” leading her to team up with Gabba. “Alicia and her team reached out about a potential collab, which was really exciting,” shares Gabba in a press statement on how the Francis Lorenzo-produced collaboration first came to be, noting “how his music aligned with the direction ALICIA DC wanted to explore as an artist.”

“She sent over a handful of demos, and honestly, it was tough choosing one because they were all really good,” further reveals Gabba, noting how “Fall” stood out the most to him due to its “mood and structure that felt like the perfect space for both [their] styles to blend.” “It was a great starting point for everything that followed.”

In the same press statement, ALICIA DC noted “how natural the collaboration flowed” as she worked with Gabba on the track. “I really enjoyed working with Gabba on this song,” she shares. “It felt quite effortless to bounce ideas back and forth to figure out the additional music ideas we wanted to add into the song. And even though this was a remote project, with me being in Singapore and him being in the Philippines, communicating our ideas on how to develop the trajectory of the song was always a productive and fun experience.”

For Gabba, whose songs solely feature instrumentals, “pursuing his first collaboration with vocals felt organic.” “It was never like, ‘I want to do a song with vocals’. It was more about seeing and learning Alicia’s point of view in music and wanting to work with that kind of perspective,” he expounds. “With my usual songs, everything is open to interpretation. But with this one, the vocals gave the track a clear direction, which really guided the production and made it more intentional, especially in relation to Alicia’s lyrics.”

“You shouldn’t have to break down the door to your own house,” says ALICIA DC regarding the message she hopes listeners will take away from “Fall.” “If the door stays locked regardless of what keys you use, the house isn’t yours!” Adding to this, she also notes that, “while the songwriting process was the same for [her], it was the production of “Fall” that brought [her] toward another direction.” “Finding a good balance between both our sounds was important, so that in the song it wouldn’t sound like one of us is overpowering the other in the song,” she expounds. “It doesn’t sound like just Alicia’s song or just Gabba’s song, it very clearly sounds like an equal collaboration.”

“I really enjoyed seeing music from Alicia’s perspective,” adds Gabba reflects. “Her approach and creative instincts are so different from mine, and it really opened my eyes to the fact that there are so many different ways to do things and they can all lead to great results.” In terms of potential collaborations with other artists in the future, Gabba states, That’s definitely something I look forward to doing. Collaborating with Alicia on ‘Fall’ was such a refreshing and eye-opening experience. I’d love to keep exploring that, working with other musicians I admire and getting the chance to pick their brains and create something together.”

Notably, the duo debuted “Fall” live during Gabba’s set at A Spur Of The Moment Project’s first ever Spur Labs. The show was held last August 2, 2025 at Salu Salo in Quezon City, where Gabba and ALICIA DC shared the stage with ONE CLICK STRAIGHT, Young Cocoa, Nameless Kids, and Likewise 2000.
