As of today (August 1, 2025), GAT have finally made their highly anticipated debut with the single “Kakaiba.” The rookie P-pop boy group announced the news on July 18, 2025 (Friday).

The announcement of the single’s release was preceded a number teasers from the group, including one with an audio snippet that hints that the song’s lyrical themes to be about having “an intense kind of attraction or feeling[s] toward[s] someone.”

While “Kakaiba” marks GAT’s official debut, the quintet have notably released a string of covers prior to their debut. This includes their viral rendition of “Daleng Dale,” which was originally recorded by MMJ, as well as James Reid’s “Huwag Ka Nang Humirit,” South Border’s “Rainbow,” and Juan Caoile and Kyleswish’s “Marikit.”

Formed under Viva Records, GAT is composed of Ethan, Derick, Michael, Hans, and Charles. Their cover of “Daleng Dale” was used as the opening theme of the popular Viva One romantic comedy series Ang Mutya ng Section E, which led to its virality and subsequently helped the group gain a widespread following prior to their debut. In addition, four members of the group also starred in the show.

In other news, GAT were handpicked to be part of Billboard Philippines’ P-pop Rising Class of 2025, where the group was highlighted for “their great potential to push the genre forward and bring P-pop to greater heights.” Meanwhile, the five-piece, alongside other stars on Viva One series, are also set to appear and perform at the Viva One’s VIVARKADA fan concert, which is set to happen on August 15, 2025 (Friday).
