Troy Laureta Joins Morissette’s ‘EMBER’ Concert As Musical Director And Special Guest: “They ain’t ready, honey!”

Troy Laureta is set to join Morissette on stage for her upcoming solo concert EMBER.
News of the world-renowned musical director and vocalist’s involvement with the grand concert production was announced over the weekend, wherein Asia’s Phoenix herself was the one who broke the news on social media to her hundreds of thousands of followers. “Althought this isn’t our first time working together, we are taking things to the NEXT LEVEL! I love that both Troy and I are not just both Bisaya, but also share the same fire passion towards our craft. Y’ALL AIN’T READYYYYY,” said Morissette on the post’s caption. Stating his excitement with his involvement in the show, Laureta then commented, “They ain’t ready honey!”
The post was soon followed up with a video that showcased the two musicians performing on stage for their “first and only rehearsal,” wherein they both sang to Morissette’s “Ihilak Lang Na.” “What a dream getting to jam ‘Ihilak Lang Na’ with you, how much more with the rest of the songs for EMBER! Thrilled to have you as my musical director and special guest,” said Morissette’s caption.
Morissette’s EMBER concert is set to take place this October 28, 2025 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, with the show co-produced by Underdog Music and Gabi Na Naman Productions (GNN). The concert will commemorate her fifteen years in the music scene with a show that journeys through her past catalog, her current hits, and a sneak preview at what else lies ahead for her career under her new label.
In other related news, Morissette’s debut feature film, Song of the Fireflies, has just been released in cinemas nationwide. The film follows the real-life story behind Alma Taldo and her role in founding the Loboc Children’s Choir, and initially premiered at the Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) wherein it was awarded the night’s most prestigious award of Best Picture, while Morissette was awarded Best Actress for her performance as Taldo.
