On June 20, 2025, Cebuano singer-songwriter Dom Guyot came out with his latest single, “Kabit,” an early 2000s-inspired R&B/pop track.

Ridden with latin pop guitar riffs and a danceable beat, “Kabit” is literal to its title – it’s an unfiltered take on being the third party to a couple. Humorously explicit and provocative, the song challenges double standards: “Sa rami raming malandi sa ating baryo / Ba’t yung kalibugan ko ang kinikwento / Pero ngayon alam ko na / Linilikod pag maganda” (With all the flirtatious people in our space / Why is it my lust that’s gossiped about? / But, now, I know / They turn away when you’re beautiful).

In a previous exclusive interview with Billboard Philippines, the artist shared, “Now, I have themes that people don’t necessarily talk about day-to-day. I’m really excited because I’m not only opening doors for queer artists like me and for queer people in general — because, if you give people something they can relate to, you’re giving them space to belong. And that’s one of my missions.”

This follows Guyot’s recent collaborative piece with Adie, “balik,” that was released on November 22 of last year. The artist has also previously hinted at his upcoming sophomore album that’s nearing full development.
